Dude Wipes customers have six days to file a claim in a $9 million class-action settlement with the company over allegedly misleading consumers.

A group of customers have accused the company of making them believe its wipes were “flushable” when they were not. Dude Products has denied any wrongdoing but has agreed to this settlement to avoid litigation with the group of consumers. The deadline to file a claim in the settlement has been set for Nov. 11.

To receive a payment, an affected customer must file a claim in the settlement. Those who purchased the wipes between Feb. 5, 2015, and Aug. 8, 2023, are eligible for a piece of the settlement.

A final approval hearing has been scheduled by the court for Nov. 16, when customers may speak regarding the proposed settlement. If a customer agrees to the settlement, he or she will be bound to the terms of the agreement and will give up certain rights to levy claims against the company, according to the court. More information about the settlement can be found on the website, which was authorized by the court.

Affected customers can claim up to $0.50 per product, with a maximum of five claims per household without proof of purchase and a maximum of 40 per household with proof of purchase. The court said customers who file a claim may submit either with proof of purchase or without proof of purchase but not both.

Another class-action settlement with an approaching deadline is for Capital One customers after a hacker gained access to millions of customers’ personal information. The deadline to claim a piece of that settlement is Nov. 27.
