McDonald’s price hikes have upset one TikToker, resulting in a viral video.
“So, I understand there’s a labor shortage, wage increases, and a number of other factors,” Christopher Olive says in his video, while capturing his bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. “But $16? $16 for a burger, a large fry, and a drink? It’s just crazy!”
SOCIAL SECURITY UPDATE: FIRST ROUND OF DIRECT PAYMENTS WORTH UP TO $4,555 TO ARRIVE IN THREE DAYS
The receipt clearly shows that the single meal purchased cost Olive $16.10 in Idaho. However, other states are seeing even greater hikes. A Big Mac combo meal, including medium fries and a medium soft drink, can run as high as $18 in Connecticut but costs $13.69 in New York City’s Times Square.
Olive’s TikTok has gained traction recently as McDonald’s reported a revenue increase of 14% in its third quarter. As a result, its net income jumped some 17% to $2.3 billion.
Meanwhile, California has increased the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20 an hour, resulting in more price hikes as the restaurant begins utilizing more robotics into its operation.
