The House Oversight Committee issued three subpoenas on Wednesday for President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, his brother, James Biden, and a Biden family business associate, Rob Walker.
These are three of the most consequential subpoenas that House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has filed during his investigation. The subpoenas are for depositions for testimony related to the House GOP’s ongoing impeachment inquiry.

Hunter Biden and James Biden are centerpieces of Comer’s investigation into Biden and his family’s overseas business.
Through their investigation, they have found that Hunter Biden received millions from foreign oligarchs and companies.
Walker was a business associate of Hunter Biden and earlier this year, the committee found through subpoenaed bank records that Walker apparently wired over $1 million in incremental payments “from 2015 through 2017” to Hunter Biden; James Biden, the president’s brother; and Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau Biden, the president’s late son.
Back in March, Comer released a memo claiming that State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Robinson Walker LLC, an account that belonged to Walker. From there, Comer said, “Biden family members and their companies began receiving incremental payments over a period of approximately three months” from Robinson Walker LLC.
“The House Oversight Committee has followed the money and built a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his family’s influence peddling schemes. Now, the House Oversight Committee is going to bring in members of the Biden family and their associates to question them on this record of evidence,” Comer said in a statement.

The committee also requested transcribed interviews with a number of other Biden family members including James Biden’s wife, Sara Biden, Hallie Biden and her sister Elizabeth Secundy, Hunter Biden’s wife Melissa Cohen, as well as former Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski.
“Unlike the many lies President Biden told the American people about his family’s business schemes, bank records don’t lie. These records reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around to the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests,” Comer said in a statement. “The House Oversight Committee, along with the Committees on Judiciary and Ways and Means, will continue to follow the facts and deliver the transparency and accountability that the American people demand and deserve.”
