At least nine people, including a teenager, were injured in what is believed to have been a drive-by shooting in Newark, New Jersey, on Thursday evening, police said.
All of the victims are in stable condition and were transported to two nearby hospitals to receive treatment for gunshot wounds, Newark’s public safety director, Raul Malave, said in a statement obtained by the Washington Examiner.

Police have not named a suspect or a motivation for the attack, though they continue to investigate.
The shooting is believed to have occurred around 6:20 p.m. local time near Clinton Place, which is located in the Weequahic section of Newark, according to Malave.
Five of the victims, including four adults and a 17-year-old, transported themselves to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, according to police. The other four were transported via emergency medical services to University Hospital, per police.
Police identified a white Honda Pilot as a vehicle of interest in the case, the outlet reported. The car is believed to have been stolen from Jersey City.

Authorities were notified of the attack by a ShotSpotter system, which utilizes sensors and software to detect gunfire, Malave said.
