Former President Donald Trump took aim at his 2024 opponent Chris Christie on Friday.
Trump blasted the former New Jersey governor on Truth Social, Trump’s social media platform, two days after Christie appeared for the fourth Republican debate. For the fourth time, Trump himself did not appear for the debate.

“Sloppy Chris Christie is not fit to run for President. He is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Trump wrote. “According to all, he came in LAST in the debate, and I came in FIRST, as I have in all of the debates, without even being there. MAGA!”
Christie spent the debate accosting his opponents on stage for not directly answering questions. While he did have the least speaking time at over 16 minutes, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley was not far ahead with about 30 seconds more.
When Christie predicted Trump “will be convicted of felonies” during the debate, he was met with boos from the crowd. The former New Jersey governor talked through the crowd’s disapproval, telling them to “boo all you want.”

Trump would also dedicate three separate posts on Friday to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who appears to be the runner-up candidate to the former president. In various posts, Trump accused DeSantis of once being “Anthony Fauci’s Biggest Fan.”
The former president has maintained a massive lead ever since the various indictments came out against him, from mishandling classified documents to subverting the 2020 presidential election. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
