A car crashed into President Joe Biden’s motorcade Sunday evening as he and First Lady Jill Biden were exiting the Biden-Harris 2024 headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.

The first lady had already entered the vehicle the pair would be traveling in, and the president had just responded to a question when a silver copper sedan with Delaware plates hit a motorcade vehicle, according to the White House press pool.

According to the White House press pool, the vehicle that was hit seemed to be a motorcade SUV that was shielding the motorcade at an intersection across from the entrance to the campaign headquarters.

The crash reportedly made a loud bang and left the president with a surprised look on his face.


Agents acted quickly and cornered the driver with weapons drawn. The driver put their hands up, and the press was ushered away.

The Bidens were eventually driven away from the scene, according to ABC.

The president and first lady had stopped to eat dinner with the campaign staff at the headquarters, according to the press pool.
