Boney M’s “Mary’s Boy Child / Oh My Lord” was found to be the lowest-earning song. To date, the song has been streamed 5.13 million times, earning just under $18,000.
Those data come in stark contrast to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You,” which has earned 99% more at nearly $5.4 million with more than 1.5 billion streams.
Hello Millions told the Washington Examiner in a statement that the findings show the important connection that certain songs have with artists throughout the holiday season: “For artists, having a festive hit not only boosts their visibility during the holiday season but helps establishes a timeless and nostalgic connection with fans who associate their music with the magic of Christmas, ultimately ensuring popularity year after year.”
