Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) released a series of 23 “wins” in 2023 via social media on Friday, which included her calls for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to resign over multiple ethics scandals.
Ocasio Cortez, one of the most vocal lawmakers to condemn Thomas over corruption allegations, claimed she helped ask the Justice Department to investigate the alleged corruption. She has also called for Thomas’s impeachment.

“We called on the Department of Justice to investigate Clarence Thomas for corruption and were joined by senior [Democratic] members of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees,” the congresswoman said in a five-minute video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Thomas was urged to resign after a report from ProPublica, published earlier this year, which claimed that the associate justice accepted at least 38 vacations, 26 international private jet flights (plus an additional eight by helicopter), 12 VIP passes to sporting events, and two resort stays during his time on the court. The report also revealed his ties to several billionaire benefactors.
AOC’s “wins” also surrounded other key moments of the year, which included the number of constituents that she helped, the expansion of the Green New Deal, her calls for a ceasefire in Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas war, and the passage of her bill that ends a ban on the study of psychedelics.

AOC has also stood in solidarity with striking workers this year, including workers in Hollywood, and traveled to South Korea, Japan, and South America as part of a congressional delegation.
