Former President Donald Trump claimed that the Democratic Party is “scrambling” to register illegal immigrants to vote ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Trump’s warning came in an early New Year’s wish to “Crooked Joe Biden” and “his group of Radical Left Misfits.” The new year brings a barrage of upcoming elections, including a potential rematch between Trump and President Joe Biden.

DEI IS ON THE RUN

“As the New Year fast approaches, I would like to wish an early New Year’s salutation to Crooked Joe Biden and his group of Radical Left Misfits & Thugs on their never ending attempt to DESTROY OUR NATION through Lawfare, Invasion, and Rigging Elections,” Trump’s social media post read. “They are now scrambling to sign up as many of those millions of people they are illegally allowing into sour Country, in order that they will be ready to VOTE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024.”

Illegal immigration has been a major focus of Trump’s and that of the Republican Party, with House Speaker Mike Johnson asking Biden to take executive action on the surge of illegal crossings at the southern border. Johnson has encouraged the president to reinstate the Remain in Mexico program, which was implemented during the Trump administration and forced asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico while their cases were pending.

Trump’s warning of Democrats registering illegal immigrants to vote comes after he has repeatedly insisted that the 2020 presidential election between him and Biden was illegitimate based on election fraud. Last month, Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) claimed that lawmakers who deny the results of the 2020 election are “lying to America.”

Trump is running for president again in the 2024 election but is facing numerous roadblocks on the way to becoming the Republican Party’s nominee, including 91 indictments. The former president has also faced efforts to remove him from the primary ballot in both Colorado and Maine, prompting pushback from Republicans.

Amid efforts to remove Trump from the two primary ballots, former Barack Obama adviser David Axelrod has warned that Trump not being allowed to run in 2024 would “tear the country apart.” Axelrod’s concern echoes a statement made by 2024 Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., who warned that the United States would become “ungovernable” if Trump is not allowed to run.
