Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is demanding an investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over allegations of an “illegal conflict of interest” in the district’s against former President Donald Trump

In a letter sent to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and the state Attorney General Christopher Carr on Wednesday, Greene accused Willis of criminal misconduct after reports surfaced that the district attorney may have had an “improper” relationship with Nathan Wade, who was hired as the special prosecutor to oversee the case. Now, Greene is calling for an investigation into both Willis and Wade as part of efforts to dismiss charges against the former president.

“Fani Willis faces serious allegations that she illegally hired her secret boyfriend — Nathan Wade, who has never tried a felony case — as her special prosecutor to reign an unprecedented, complex, and partisan felony RICO prosecution against President Donald Trump,” Greene wrote in the complaint.

Greene’s letter refers to a 127-page motion filed earlier this week by the attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, which alleges Willis may have personally benefited from her relationship with Wade.

The filing claims Willis paid Wade “nearly $70,000 in official funds” that were justified through “vague block billings,” Greene wrote in her letter. The Georgia Republican also accused Willis of possibly receiving “illegal kickbacks” through her personal relationship, including “lavish domestic and international trips” that were allegedly paid for by Wade through the government funds.

If those allegations are true, Greene says the actions would amount to several crimes, including violation of public oath, bribery, improper influence of a government official, criminal conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud government, racketeering, false statements and concealment, and other public corruption crimes.

“This is part of Fani Willis’ unlawful partisan pattern, through her words and deeds to illegally politicize and weaponize her public office to wage lawfare against President Trump for the purpose of interfering with the 2024 election,” she wrote. “And now we are learning she has allegedly enriched her secret boyfriend and herself during the process.”

The Washington Examiner contacted the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office but did not receive a response.
