Former President Donald Trump appeared to mistake his opponent for former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) at a rally on Friday.

While speaking to supporters on Friday, Trump blamed Nikki Haley when speaking about the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol instead of referencing Pelosi, whom he was clearly talking about.

“You know, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, you know they — do you know they destroyed all of the information and all of the evidence?” Trump told the crowd, referring to Jan. 6.

“Everything. Deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it because of, lots of things. Like, Nikki Haley is in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people.”

Trump was referring to his claim that he offered Pelosi more than 10,000 National Guard troops ahead of Jan. 6 to help secure the Capitol and that the former House Speaker rejected it.

The Associated Press reported that whether or not to call National Guard troops to the Capitol is made by the Capitol Police Board, which includes the House Sergeant at Arms, the Senate Sergeant at Arms, and the Architect of the Capitol, and that the board decided not to call the guard prior to the attack.
