Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) proposed to his girlfriend on Saturday.

Scott popped the question to Mindy Noce along the beach in Kiawah Island in South Carolina, a proposal his new fiancée accepted. The senator was fresh off the heels of accompanying Donald Trump on the campaign trail in New Hampshire after endorsing the former president.

“As a guy who is mostly an introvert and on the quiet side, having to have a conversation about the engagement is a little, you know, uncomfortable in a way, but it’s the most exciting thing I’ll do with my life besides making Jesus my Lord,” Scott told the Washington Post.

The Republican senator posted the milestone on X, writing, “She said YES.”

“Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world,” he added before quoting the Bible: “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”

The two have been dating for about a year and anticipate getting married this year. Scott, 58, has never been married.

Noce made her first public appearance with Scott last year following the third Republican National Committee debate in Miami. She posed onstage with Scott for photographs immediately following the televised event.

Scott dropped out of the 2024 race shortly after the debate. During a television interview Sunday, he danced around the idea of becoming Trump’s vice presidential pick.
