Second gentleman Doug Emhoff shared a social media post touting that he’s a “girl dad” and encouraged other “girl dads” to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in order to protect their daughter’s reproductive rights.
In the video posted on Monday, he was flanked by daughter Ella, television personality Andy Cohen, and Hollywood actor Ben Stiller as they showed their support for Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate.
“To all of the dads out there, I would say: This is the time to really show your support for your daughters,” the second gentleman’s daughter says at the beginning of the video.
Being a girl dad is a gift. It’s also one of the reasons @BenStiller and @Andy are voting for @KamalaHarris. pic.twitter.com/2CIL7ZTYZ2

Cohen said as a “girl dad” that he loves how his 2 1/2-year-old daughter is a powerhouse.
Actor Ben Stiller chimed in that his “incredibly strong” daughter is 22 1/2 and “is a feminist.”
Cohen and Stiller championed that their “vote for Kamala is an investment in my daughter’s future.”
“When the Dobbs decision came out two-plus years ago, I heard from Kamala right away, and then the next person was Ella. She texted me right away, essentially saying: ‘We need to fight.’ This is not just an issue for women. This is an issue for men and families,” Emhoff said.
“This is one of the many, many reasons why we need to elect Kamala as president,” the husband of the vice president said.
“Never in my lifetime did I think we would be having to fight for this, and the fight for our own bodies. And I think it’s really important for men to step up,” Ella Emhoff said in the video.
Social media had strong reactions to Doug Emhoff’s video on Monday.
“What happened to the nanny?” a social media user reacted, referring to Doug Emhoff cheating on his first wife and mother of his two children around 2008 with Ella Emhoff’s nanny.
He allegedly impregnated the nanny who also worked as his daughter’s grade school teacher. The nanny reportedly accused him of causing her to have a miscarriage and he paid her a settlement of around $80,000.
Another social media user remarked, “So what you’re saying is you guys are glad your daughters weren’t aborted.”
“When did you stop slapping women?” another social media user ripped Doug Emhoff, referring to allegations about the “girl dad” allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend 12 years ago outside a red carpet gala on the street in France.

“Democrats found a way to 3x their cringe. Amazing output!” a social media user quipped.
In addition to being a self-proclaimed “girl dad,” Doug Emhoff was labeled in September as “the perfect wife guy” by former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
