In three weeks, officials in Alaska will send out Permanent Fund Dividend payments to another group of eligible residents who have yet to receive their checks from the state program.
The Alaska Department of Revenue is slated to send payments on Feb. 15 to those who have the “Eligible-Not Paid” status by Feb. 7 and have yet to receive a check from the PFD for 2023 or earlier.
An Alaska resident must intend to remain a resident indefinitely and may not be a convicted felon, among other requirements, to qualify for a payment from the PFD.
The state’s Permanent Fund Dividend program gives eligible residents a check each year based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that year. The 2023 payment was worth $1,312 per eligible resident, and its distribution began in October 2023.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”
“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” he said in 2023. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
