As another bitter presidential election comes to an end, some are comparing 2024 to 1976, when then-President Gerald Ford was fast closing in on leader Jimmy Carter in the final days. Carter defeated the incumbent by 2 points in a rough and tumble election.
And now, we’re learning that the two eventually became friends. “Once political rivals, former Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter became not just friends but political allies in their post-presidential years,” Ford biographer Scott Kaufman told Secrets.
“Their relationship is a testament to the bipartisanship that has become all too rare in today’s politicized climate,” added Kaufman, a professor of history at Francis Marion University in South Carolina. Ford died the day after Christmas 2006, and Carter, who just turned 100, is in hospice.

It told us, “His immense brand and unapologetic approach have resonated with many.” And BetUS predicted, “Trump’s attractiveness may push him over the finish line” next week. The list was pulled out of a larger survey of the sexiest celebrities. Andres Vargas, head content editor at BetUS, said, “Celebrities make up an extremely small percentage of the human population, and many individuals develop crushes on talented celebrities like musicians, actors, athletes, and even former presidents, which can bring excitement and fascination. Out of the many celebrity crushes out there, we at BetUS wanted to showcase which male celebrity would be deemed the sexiest in 2024.”
