South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson blasted Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) during an interview on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins on Wednesday night.
Wilson said Mace acted like an “entitled, spoiled brat” during an incident at the Charleston International Airport on Oct. 30, in which she reportedly berated law enforcement officials and Transportation Security Administration staff. Mace had called the accusations false, denying that she used inappropriate language to the airport officials, and said the report was partly “falsified.”
“There are half a dozen people who gave reports, I mean statements, that she used, I mean they’re all saying the same thing,” Wilson said in response to a question asked by Collins about Mace’s denial. “Is everyone lying and she telling the truth?”
“And it’s not just this one incident,” Wilson added. “Apparently, there’s a handful of incidents over the last year where she is cussing out TSA, cussing out security. This is something that goes back, not just this past month, but for the last year. At the end of the day, she’s saying things that are delusional, and this basically reminds me of a spoiled brat, an entitled spoiled brat.”
As mentioned above, Mace was accused of using foul language at airport officials during an incident in October over what was considered a communication error, in which she was briefly delayed in getting a security escort at Charleston International Airport in South Carolina. According to the police report from that day, police officers eventually connected with Mace at a TSA entrance, where they found her “very irate.”
“During the entire escort, Rep. Mace was talking loudly, using profanity at times for others to hear,” read the police report. “It appeared she was either dictating a message into her phone or talking to someone about the situation.”
Earlier this week, while also appearing on CNN, Mace criticized the report of her exchange with airport officers, calling it a political “hit job” and partly “falsified.”
“Part of the report was actually falsified,” Mace said regarding the report. “We asked for all the video, all the audio, everything, all the body cam. And the video that was released yesterday showed me asking TSA agents for help and for assistance. And conveniently, there is no audio that goes with it.”
“I do take responsibility for my words. I always have, but the idea that I would call somebody an idiot. I have never done that in my life,” Mace added. “And to me, it was an incredible hit job. It was effective. It was a very effective political hit job, but that’s all that it was.”

Mace also alleged Wilson might have been behind the controversy surrounding the report. She was asked on CNN if Wilson and the Charleston Airport Police Department collaborated.
“Oh, 100%,” Mace replied.
“Six minutes after they released the falsified reports, he had a news release and a press thing on social media,” the congresswoman said. “It was a very effective political hit job, but I’m not going to sit here and allow the mainstream media to allow the press to concoct a story.”
Wilson has served as South Carolina’s attorney general since 2011. He announced his candidacy for governor of South Carolina in June 2025. In August 2025, Mace also announced her candidacy for governor of South Carolina.
