At least one person is dead and six others are injured after a mass shooting in Rochester, New York, on Sunday.
Officers arrived at Maplewood Park at about 6:20 p.m. and found several people suffering from gunshot wounds as well as a large group of people running from the scene, police said.
A 20-year-old person who was unnamed was killed in the shooting and another victim is in a life-threatening condition, according to Rochester First. Five other victims were hospitalized with “relatively minor injuries.” Police have not yet released the name of the victim who died.
“At this point, we don’t know how many people were shooting,” Rochester Police Captain Greg Bello said during a press briefing following the shooting. “We are trying to work our way through that. We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can.”
