Talk show host Candace Owens said Wednesday that Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk “did not ask” Owens to stop producing her podcast that investigates theories regarding Kirk’s husband’s assassination.
Owens, who claims to have traveled the most with Kirk’s late husband for TPUSA campus events, began an investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The findings from Owens’s efforts have been posted to her YouTube channel that she started after being fired from the Daily Wire last year.
Kirk admitted that she has “righteous anger” toward conspiracy theorists stirring speculation about her husband’s death. During a town hall with CBS News, Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss asked Kirk specifically about Owens, and Kirk recommended the theories “stop.”
However, Owens confirmed on Piers Morgan Uncensored Wednesday that Kirk made no request like this in person when the pair met for a private discussion following the town hall.
“I’m telling you that then we had a conversation and I was not asked throughout that conversation to stop and to the contrary I shared information that I had and I got information from them that helps,” Owens said. “Until I feel confident of who killed Charlie Kirk. I will not stop investigating this.”
“She did not ask me or request for me to stop in person,” Owens added. “She did not ask me to conduct myself in any way. That seems to just be coming from the media of how I should conduct myself.”

Kirk confirmed on X Tuesday that she had a “productive conversation” with Owens.
“Time to get back to work,” Kirk wrote.
According to Owens, Kirk said during their conversation that she has been watching Owens’s podcast.

“And it’s interesting to hear Erica say that the reason she didn’t ask me to stop in the beginning [was] because she was actually learning things from the show,” Owens said.
Owens continued her podcast Wednesday, the same day as her interview with Morgan.
