Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) dismissed the effect any protest will have on President Donald Trump‘s address to Congress Tuesday.

The speech will be Trump’s first to the chambers since taking office for the second time. Four Democratic senators are boycotting the speech, but House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) called for a “strong, determined, and dignified Democratic presence in the chamber” while Trump speaks. As a result, some lawmakers are protesting the president in other ways.

“I heard the Congressional Black Caucus is wearing black. I think it’s because it’s a mourning for the Democrat Party. ‘Cause the president is putting nails in the coffin right there,” Mast said on Fox News’s Fox and Friends. “He’s delivering on the American dream, making America more secure, which he talked about in the first term — on the southern border and so many places. He’s delivering jobs to the American people: A Honda Civic plant into Indiana, Taiwan semiconductor into Arizona. He’s bringing jobs to the United States of America. He’s getting government out of the way. And he’s making — for the first time in our lifetime — the American government spend less. That’s the American dream.”

The businesses moved into the U.S. as Mexico faced a 25% tariff and China faced a 10% tariff that began Tuesday. This comes amid a yearslong border crisis that included immigrants illegally crossing the border and an increase of Chinese-produced fentanyl discovered in states sharing borders with Mexico.
