Former President Donald Trump has won the North Dakota presidential caucuses, sending him closer to the Republican nomination.

Trump won the state handily, according to the Associated Press, which called the race around 9:20 EST. He also won all 29 of the state’s delegates, taking his total to 276 nationwide, compared to former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s 43 delegates.

Sites were open from 6-9 p.m. Trump, Haley, and long-shot candidates Ryan Binkley, who recently reportedly ended his campaign, and David Stuckenberg were all on the ballot.

Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), a former presidential candidate who dropped out to endorse Trump, is expected to speak on Trump’s behalf virtually.

The results of the primary came as little surprise — Trump was widely expected to win by a large margin, as he did in almost every other contest so far.

Haley won her first primary victory in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, winning all 19 delegates. However, she still needs a massive showing on Super Tuesday to give Trump a real battle in the race to be the Republican presidential nominee.
