House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) assessed how President-elect Donald Trump’s second presidency will be drastically different from his first one, as Republican lawmakers are working as the wind in his sails rather than working against him.

Jordan described how every Republican is “behind the president” going into Trump’s second term when compared to how some in-party members were opposed to him, in addition to most Democratic lawmakers, in 2021. The change is also evident with the public, Jordan argued, as one can “feel the optimism” that the nation feels ahead of Trump’s inauguration.

INAUGURATION DAY 2025: EVERYTHING TO KNOW AHEAD OF TRUMP TAKING OFFICE

“I walk through airports now, and you’ll see someone walking the other way and they’ll give you a thumbs up, a little twinkle in their eye, you can just sense it everywhere,” Jordan said on Fox News’s One Nation with Brian Kilmeade. “They’re so glad President Trump, his leadership, his projecting strength from the Oval Office is going to be back in the White House.”

The Republican lawmaker also detailed what people can expect from Trump’s first day in office, which will likely include executive orders to build the border wall along the southern border as well as plans to get the nation’s energy production underway. For Trump’s deportation plans, Jordan detailed how these would start with “the bad guys” before deporting illegal immigrants who do not qualify for asylum.

Jordan also dismissed concerns that former Rep. Liz Cheney would be investigated, stating the House would instead do “a lookback” on her. He added that Trump and his legal team would not “retaliate” in his leadership but look into Attorney General Merrick Garland’s leadership.

Among the issues that Jordan is intending to investigate is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s claims that officials in the Biden administration pressured Facebook to take down posts related to side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. Republicans are also seeking to investigate special counsel Jack Smith’s legal fight against Trump.

Zuckerberg was among several celebrities expected to attend Trump’s inauguration prior to the announcement that the ceremony would be held indoors. Other tech billionaires who were expected included Elon Musk, Amazon Jeff Bezos, and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
