RNC co-chairwoman Lara Trump suggested the current hype surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign will “wear off” come the next presidential debate — this time between former President Donald Trump and Harris.

President Joe Biden dropped out of his bid for reelection in July a few weeks after his poor debate performance against Trump, leaving Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee.

“What you have seen is manufactured,” Lara Trump told the Ingraham Angle. “This whole thing has been smoke and mirrors, and it’s the same folks in the mainstream media, by the way. I will remind everyone who a few months ago, were suggesting that maybe Joe Biden wanted to choose a new running mate. Maybe Kamala Harris was a bit of a drag on the ticket. Now we are all supposed to believe she is this political genius. You cannot believe what you are seeing out there.”

“Wait until the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris,” she added. “The shine will wear off. We will see exactly who she is. And I can guarantee you those poll numbers for Donald Trump will continue to go up.”

The RNC co-chairwoman also encouraged Republican voters to not take the need to vote for granted.

“Something that I think we really pushed very hard this election cycle specifically from the RNC is early voting,” Lara Trump said. “And you finally have seen people are very concerned about early voting, mail-in voting. Donald Trump himself posted months ago and said voting by mail, voting early, or voting in person on Election Day are all great ways to vote.”

“Here’s the reality of the situation for Republicans, if we all wait until Election Day, that will be too late,” she continued. “We want people to get out and we want them to bank their vote.”

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are set to debate on September 10. The debate will air on ABC.
