Former first lady Melania Trump will be one of the few members of former President Donald Trump’s inner family circle who will not take the podium at next week’s Republican National Convention.
A schedule and list of speakers released by the Republican National Committee late this week revealed that viewers will hear from sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, daughter-in-law and RNC co-Chairwoman Lara Trump, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Trump Jr.
Although Melania Trump, the former president’s wife of 19 years, and eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, are slated to attend the convention, neither is on the roster of speakers.
Ivanka Trump did not attend her father’s 2022 campaign launch and said she and her husband, Jared Kushner, were “choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”
Melania Trump has been largely absent from public campaign events this cycle, particularly last year, as she took time to care for her ailing mother, who died in January.
Donald and Melania Trump’s only child, Barron, turned 18 in March and attended his father’s recent campaign rally in Miami this month.

Barron stood up in the crowd at his father’s request and received a round of applause from attendees.
“That’s the first time he’s done it,” Donald Trump said. “That’s the first time, right? You’re pretty popular. He may be more popular than Don and Eric. We’ve got to talk about this. Hey, Don, we’ve got to talk about this, huh?”
