Stormy Daniels wanted no part in helping former President Donald Trump by accepting a subpoena served to her by his legal team while she was arriving at a Brooklyn bar last month.
The former adult film actress rejected the subpoena, which a process server said he was forced “to leave them at her feet.” The subpoena called for information surrounding a documentary released about her life and involvement with Trump.
“I stated she was served as I identified her and explained to her what the documents were,” process server Dominic DellaPorte wrote. “She did not acknowledge me and kept walking inside the venue, and she had no expression on her face.”
The subpoena rejection comes as Trump is currently facing a criminal case in which he is alleged to have asked his former attorney, Michael Cohen, to pay Daniels $130,000 for her to keep quiet about Trump’s prior sexual relations with her.
Trump’s lawyers are asking Judge Juan Merchan if he can force Daniels to accept the subpoena, citing a photo DellaPorte took as she walked away as evidence of the rejection.
Daniels’ lawyer, Clark Brewster, said they never received the subpoena and called the requests an “unwarranted fishing expedition.”

“The process — instituted on the eve of trial — appears calculated to cause harassment and/or intimidation of a lay witness,” Brewster wrote in an April 9 letter to Merchan.
The New York City-based trial is the first of four criminal cases against Trump. Its first few days have thrown Trump into a frenzy of new publicity as speculation amounts on the jury he will face, and talk has even centered on whether he fell asleep in court.
