Former President Donald Trump predicted he would break the record for black and Hispanic votes cast for a Republican presidential candidate.

Trump was speaking at a rally Saturday in Las Vegas when he made the prediction. His appearance came less than two weeks before Nevada will host the GOP-run caucuses on Feb. 8.

“Every disaster Joe Biden has created for Hispanic Americans, I will get it solved,” Trump said. “On Day One, we will start that process. That’s why we’re going to win the record share of Latino votes for the first time ever. And we’ll get the highest number of African American votes ever recorded. I think pretty much everyone is agreeing on that.”

Biden has visited South Carolina twice this month on the campaign trail, and Vice President Kamala Harris has been twice on her own. The incumbents seemingly are trying to establish a foothold in the state in the hopes of garnering more black supporters as its Democratic primary comes on Feb. 3.

So far, Trump has won both the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary. After the Nevada caucuses comes South Carolina’s Republican primary on Feb. 24.
