Former President Donald Trump railed against the “fake news” industry on Friday, claiming it used artificial intelligence that added extra pounds to images of him playing golf.
Trump took to social media while Justice Arthur Engoron handed down a $355 million fine in New York, attacking the political Left, and showed three photos of himself playing golf on Friday to compare his weight.
“The Fake News used Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to create the picture on the top left,” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social. “These are despicable people, but everyone knows that. The other pictures are me hitting Golf balls today to show the difference. Sadly, in our Country, Fake News is all you get!”
A deeper investigation into the altered image found that the photo was actually photoshopped, and someone had placed the former president’s head onto the body of golfing star John Daly from a picture that was taken in 2017, according to the Daily Mail.
Daly and Trump are longtime friends who have played golf multiple times together. The two-time golfing champion has been a supporter of the former president, and encouraged Trump to return to the White House in 2024. Trump is known for playing golf in his free time, including while in the Oval Office.
“Think all of us on the tours want Daddy Trump back,” Daly told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson last December. “He needs to win; I pray to God he wins. Just for the satisfaction of bringing our country back together and get common sense going in here again.”

Daly also revealed that Trump had predicted his own stint in the White House during a conversation back in the 1990s.
“We played a pro-am, we went out back and talked a bit, and when he stood up, he says, ‘Mark my word, I’ll be President of the United States one day.’ This was back in ’92, ’93, ’94 maybe,” Daly said.
