President Donald Trump reacted to recent advice from his former national security advisor, H.R. McMaster, with name-calling and dismissal.

McMaster was the subject of Sunday’s 60 Minutes episode on CBS, where he commented on the third-year anniversary since Russia invaded Ukraine. According to McMaster, “Vladimir Putin couldn’t be happier” with Trump’s attempt to negotiate an end to the conflict.

“H.R. MCMASTER IS A WEAK AND TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE LOSER!” Trump wrote following the episode’s airing. “We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our Country – So that we don’t end up like Europe!”

According to the president, he is also “in serious discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia concerning the ending of the War, and also major Economic Development transactions which will take place between the United States and Russia. Talks are proceeding very well!”

“[Trump] is being played,” McMaster said. “And he’s being played like other presidents have been played.”

MARCO RUBIO CAN’T SAY ‘PEACE IS POSSIBLE’ BETWEEN UKRAINE AND RUSSIA

Not a single European ally or former President Joe Biden has been able to speak to Putin over these last three years. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping has kept contact with Putin, most recently phoning him last week for the first time since Trump took office.

A recent tense meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump created confusion about Putin’s role in the war. Zelensky attempted to negotiate with Trump on security guarantees while in Washington, D.C., earlier this week and insisted the meeting happen in front of the media. Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained Sunday that these guarantees are “contingent” on a peace agreement.
