Former President Donald Trump’s campaign released a new video shortly before his hush money trial was set to start.
The video features footage of past court visits that Trump has made over the last year, with audio from one of his rallies talking about how the Left is “persecuting” him. Trump says in his speech that he is the only person who can save the United States and that “they’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you, and I just happen to be standing in their way.”
“When I walk into that courtroom, I know I will have the love of 200 million Americans behind me, and I will be FIGHTING for the FREEDOM of 325 MILLION AMERICANS!” Trump wrote on Truth Social in reposting the video.
The video ends with Trump stating that “justice will be done” on Nov. 5, the day the U.S. will hold its elections. Trump is the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party, meaning a rematch between him and President Joe Biden is likely.
Ahead of the trial, Trump lamented that he and his team were only given a short amount of time to prepare for it. The trial was initially slated to begin jury selection on March 25, but it was delayed due to the motions filed by Trump’s lawyers, who had initially asked for a 90-day delay.

Monday’s trial relates to Trump’s 34 counts of falsifying business records to hide an alleged hush money payment to former pornography film star Stormy Daniels in 2016. On Saturday, Trump said that he plans to testify in the trial, where he would “tell the truth” while on the stand.
Will Scharf, one of Trump’s lawyers in this trial, argued Sunday that the former president would be a “compelling witness” in this trial. He also stated it was very important to get a politically neutral jury for this trial, as the country is at “the height of election season.”
