Former President Donald Trump made his first post on X in almost a year, highlighting the need to support him in the election coming up in less than three months.

Trump posted his latest campaign ad ahead of a planned one-on-one interview Monday night with billionaire and X owner Elon Musk on the platform. The last post made by Trump on X was when he showed off his mugshot on Aug. 24, 2023, which was also his first post after his account was reinstated nine months earlier.

“They’re not coming after me. They’re coming after you, and I just happen to be standing in their way, and I will never be moving,” Trump is heard saying in the ad. “On Nov. 5, 2024, justice will be done. We will take back our country, and we will make America great again!”

Many users on X celebrated the return of Trump on the platform, with “HE’S BACK” hitting #4 on the platform’s trending section.

Trump’s interview with Musk is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, which Musk is promoting as “unscripted” and will allow X users to submit questions live. Musk has turned out to be an unexpected ally for the former president, reinstating his account after purchasing Twitter in November 2022 and then endorsing him after Trump survived an assassination attempt last month.

Musk previously had a rocky relationship with Trump, revealing in his biography last year that he would have voted for then-presidential candidate Joe Biden in 2020 but opted not to due to how he was currently living in California, an uncontested state for Democrats. However, he has become increasingly critical of Biden and the Democratic Party in recent years, saying last year he would not vote for Biden over Trump.

Last month, Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and gave his endorsement to Vice President Kamala Harris, who has received a boost in support against Trump. Since becoming the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party, Harris has selected Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her 2024 running mate.
