President Donald Trump and Elon Musk formed a bond during the 2024 presidential campaign. Their partnership helped Trump win the presidency.

Musk contributed tens of millions of dollars to Trump’s reelection campaign and organized a PAC that helped with voter registration and get-out-the-vote efforts. He’s been a staunch supporter of the president and an integral member of his administration. Mush, a special government employee and presidential adviser, has identified numerous areas of government waste through the Department of Government Efficiency, claiming to have saved the government billions of dollars.

Musk’s support for Trump has not come without challenges, as Democrats have targeted him for political retribution, including multiple attacks on his company, Tesla, through boycotts, protests, and acts of violence. Witnessing the fallout from endorsing his campaign, Trump reinforced his support for Musk on Monday night, announcing he would purchase a Tesla as a “show of confidence.”

“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” Trump posted on his Truth Social account. “But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for.”

Trump remarked how the Left tried similar tactics against him, yet ultimately failed. This defeat was noted by Trump in his social media post, where he even taunted them over their lack of political success against him in the 2024 presidential election.

“They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out?” Trump said.

The president then announced that he would purchase a Tesla tomorrow as a sign of support for Musk. He called the inventor, engineer, philanthropist, and billionaire a “great American” and said he shouldn’t be punished for supporting him.

“In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???”

Trump’s plans to purchase a Tesla come as the automobile company’s stock price has taken quite a hit recently. The stock dropped more than 15% in the last 24 hours, 32% in the last month, and over 41% year-to-date. The most recent fluctuations coincided with Musk’s interview on Fox News on Monday, in which he described his efforts to eliminate government waste and halt reckless spending.

Nevertheless, despite the recent stock price decrease and the string of attacks against him, Musk doesn’t appear too worried. In response to a post on X about Tesla’s falling stock price, Musk replied that he wasn’t expecting the economic turbulence to last.

“It will be fine long-term,” Musk posted
