Dylan Mulvaney, transgender advocate and social media influencer, has been on a recent media tour promoting a memoir, Paper Doll, and has now debuted a new podcast called The Dylan Hour.

Mulvaney first gained widespread attention through the viral TikTok series Days of Girlhood, documenting a gender transition from being a biological man to a transgender woman.

The series garnered Mulvaney a large following and several lucrative corporate endorsements.

One of the most high-profile partnerships came in 2023 when the content creator teamed up with Bud Light for a marketing campaign. The company created a personalized can featuring Mulvaney’s likeness to celebrate the social media star’s gender transition, but the collaboration sparked a massive backlash and boycott, with many arguing that it alienated the brand’s traditional customer base. Bud Light has since struggled to recover from the fallout.

Now Mulvaney is stepping into the world of podcasting with The Dylan Hour, a new show with plans to have “raunchy” conversations with actors, writers, and drag queens, all while focusing on “the girls, gays, and theys.”

In a promotional video for the podcast, Mulvaney, a former musical theater performer, is seen singing in various whimsical scenarios that include standing in a shower, driving a car, gazing into a mirror while singing into a lollipop, and even belting out tunes on a yellow couch.

Last week, Mulvaney was on a media tour and the 28-year-old dismissed the label of “transgender activist” while appearing on The View.

“People often label me as an activist when I’m just a musical theater girl who wrote a book,” Mulvaney said.

Despite the significant fallout from the Bud Light partnership, which contributed to a 30% decline in the brand’s customer base, Mulvaney has no regrets about the collaboration.

“I think what was so confusing about it was that it just kept going. Then I realized I had become the poster child for this thing [transgenderism], when trans is just a small part of me,” Mulvaney reflected.
