Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) will not be the Democratic nominee for president in 2028, characterizing the governor as a “pathological narcissist.”
“He will say or do anything to be president of the United States, and it’s not to better the country. It’s because he’s like Hillary Clinton,” Concha said Friday on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime. “He believes he is entitled to sit behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office.”
Newsom has revealed he is considering running for president in 2028, but has not officially announced a campaign.

The governor recently published a memoir, Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery, about his upbringing and rise in politics. Newsom is currently on a book tour, traveling to various key presidential primary states.
Concha said Newsom has nothing to run a presidential campaign on.
“Outside of trolling Trump, what’s he running on? It’s not his record in California,” Concha said. “California, let’s face it, that is as bad run a state as the Mogadishu that is Minnesota at this point.”
“So now he is reduced to going on D-list podcasts with Katie Couric,” Concha added.
Concha said that, unlike Trump, Newsom hasn’t explicitly outlined the core issue he would focus on during a presidential campaign.
“The problem with Gavin is it’s much like Kamala Harris. He’s like the Goldschlager of presidential candidates. The more you have, the less you want of it,” Concha said.
Concha criticized Newsom for going on progressive podcaster Hasan Piker’s podcast.
“Talk about desperation because this guy [Hasan Piker], who is bff with Zohran Mamdani, said America deserved 9/11. Gavin Newsom is proving, quite quickly, that rock bottom does have a basement,” Concha said.
