Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha rebuffed Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) bid to “ride” Minnesota Republicans on Wednesday, saying the governor has “no idea” how to respond to the national scrutiny he and his state are receiving.

Walz said on Tuesday he will not resign from office before his second term ends, telling state Republicans they can expect him “to ride you like you’ve never been ridden to make sure you’re doing your job.”
Concha said that Walz’s statement is “misplaced,” saying there aren’t any Minnesota Republicans holding public office at a state level.
“Look, there’s only one word to describe Tim Walz at this moment: panicked. Because this is a person who has lived in a bubble, has been protected by legacy media his entire adult life from anything remotely resembling scrutiny, and he clearly has no idea how to respond to basic questions around what could be the biggest fraud scandal in any state’s history, let alone Minnesota,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First.
“So he can turn up the volume, talk tough, vote President Trump for whatever reason as a reflexive deflection, but in the end, it does not distract from his own huge problems. The bottom line is that Tim Walz is not running for a third term for governor.”

Concha also considers it “amazing” how Walz was nearly “within a heartbeat” of the presidency if former Vice President Kamala Harris won the 2024 presidential election, in which Walz was her running mate. Going forward, Concha said Walz has “absolutely no shot” of ever becoming the United States president, and suggested the only presidency in the governor’s future could be “presidency of a cellblock.”
Independent reporter Nick Shirley released a video on Minnesota’s fraud last month, which Concha said is proof one doesn’t need “a big newsroom” or large staff. Rather, all one needs is “a cellphone and curiosity” to uncover fraud, with Concha saying Shirley picked up a story that legacy media ignored “altogether.”

Shirley told conservative activist Riley Gaines that he plans to go across the country to expose more fraud. He hasn’t divulged specific details for his destination, as he doesn’t want to become “a target like I am in Minnesota,” according to Fox News’s The Riley Gaines Show.
Walz received almost $10,000 in campaign contributions from supporters connected to the Somali-operated day care centers in Minnesota, according to campaign finance filings compiled by the Washington Examiner.
