One woman claimed she became so addicted to cheese that the only way she could treat it was to attend a rehabilitation center.
Adela Cojab was a junior at New York University when she developed an unusual hankering for cheese according to the New York Post. Cojab said it started because she found the dairy product to be cheap. Suddenly, her weight increased, and she was a candidate for pre-diabetes due to her overindulgence in cheese.
“I stopped by either Morton Williams or by Whole Foods and I would just buy cheese, and I would literally just eat a block of cheese with my hands,” Cojab said.
Ultimately Cojab received treatment at Hilton Head Health, a resort that proclaims on its website to be “a week-long wellness program combines a wide variety of fitness classes, wellness education, rejuvenating spa treatments and gourmet healthy food to accelerate your wellness journey.” She learned a better diet and was able to reverse the effects to her health after two weeks there.

Cojab was the president of the Zionist group Realize Israel, which at times added to her stress in light of Israel’s conflict with Hamas. As pro-Palestinian protesters have called for ceasefires on the NYU campus, Cojab has become more outspoken in her support for Israel. At times, she admitted she returns to her cheese habit.
Over 38,000 people follow Cojab on Instagram, where she continues to advocate Israel and combat antisemitism. This June, she will graduate from the Cardozo School of Law.
