Former Rep. Matt Gaetz said he won’t take his seat in Congress, clearing up speculation he could return after resigning from the 118th Congress during his failed bid for Trump’s Attorney General.

“I do not intend to join the 119th Congress,” Gaetz told Charlie Kirk on a podcast. “There are a number of fantastic Floridians who stepped up to run for my seat…eight years is probably enough time in the United States Congress.

There will be a special election for his House seat.
