Presidential candidate Donald Trump was in Miami, Florida, Sunday to watch the Formula One Grand Prix race.

Trump was met with chants of “USA” by the crowd as he waved to them from track. He remained there through the National Anthem, which he listened to while saluting.

As Trump has been dealing with his criminal trial in New York, weekends such as these are vital for his visibility as he campaigns for president in November’s election. Trump has attended Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts as well, where he sits ringside. Trump was already in town due to a private donor retreat alongside Govs. Doug Burgum (R-ND) and Kristi Noem (R-SD) in Florida.

McLaren driver Lando Norris of the United Kingdom won first place in the race Sunday. It was the first race McLaren has won since 2021.

Meanwhile, the last place driver was Kevin Magnussen, who received a 10-second penalty when F1 stewards faulted him for the collision he shared with Logan Sargeant. During lap 29, Sargeant was turning when Magnussen got too close and knocked him into a wall. Magnussen continued but Sargeant was cleared off the track. Sargeant was not injured.

Two more Grand Prix races are scheduled in the United States this season.
