Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch announced his engagement to a woman on Saturday, setting him up for his fifth marriage.
Retired scientist Elena Zhukova, 67, is Murdoch’s latest fiancee. Their engagement announcement comes days before the media mogul turns 93 years old.
The Russian-born woman, whom he met last year, is also his first romantic interest since he announced last September that he would step down from his role as head of the network and of the news division. His son Lachlan Murdoch took the position of chairman of both Fox and News Corp.
Zhukova follows model Jerry Hall, whom he most recently divorced in 2022, Australian model Patricia Booker, journalist Anna Mann, and Wendi Deng. While he had no children with Hall, he shares six children among his three other ex-wives.
Murdoch was briefly engaged to Ann Lesley Smith last spring, but the two broke it off after two weeks.

The native Australian, whose full name is Keith Rupert Murdoch, acquired his first newspaper at 21 when his father, Keith Murdoch, died. By the end of his career, he had become the co-chairman of the Fox Corporation and executive chairman of News Corp, the two of which collectively encompassed Fox News, Sky News Australia, the New York Post, the Sun, and the Wall Street Journal among others.
Murdoch remained Fox News’s CEO until 2015, when he retired at 84. Even after he left, he held influence over the outlet, at one point reportedly asking for an anti-Trump bias that his replacement, the late Roger Ailes, did not agree to, which, when combined with the allegations of sexual assault against him, led to Ailes’s ousting.
