Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) pledged to vote for holding former President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress only if Attorney Pam Bondi is also held in contempt.

Raskin appeared on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, one day before the House Rules Committee will vote on whether to move the contempt measure to the floor. The measure previously passed the House Oversight Committee with bipartisan support.

“I will vote yes on contempt against them and anybody else, as long as Pam Bondi is part of it,” Raskin said. “Remember, she‘s got millions of documents that she is legally compelled to turn over under a months-old subpoena and under federal law and she‘s not doing it.”

“So I don‘t think we should be holding anybody in contempt, including people who have engaged in at least partial compliance, unless we‘re going to get that huge mountain of documents that‘s being held by the DOJ,” Raskin said. “I will definitely vote no on any partisan measure, one side or the other. I want all of the information from everybody, and I want everybody to come forward and comply.”

In a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY), the Clintons criticized the committee for dismissing previous subpoenas issued to seven other witnesses on the matter of Epstein.

“In fact, since you started your investigation last year, you have interviewed a total of two people. Two,” the letter said. “A legal analysis prepared by two law firms and provided to you yesterday makes clear your subpoenas are legally invalid.”

Both Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon of the first Trump administration served jail time for defying a subpoena from the now-defunct Jan. 6 Committee. Both were found in contempt of Congress. The Clintons could face a similar outcome, as the House rules measure is expected to pass and it will then be brought to the full chamber for a vote.
