The Washington Examiner’s Sarah Bedford spoke about the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 on Fox Business on Friday as President Joe Biden’s campaign seeks to blast former President Donald Trump on his ties to the venture.

Project 2025 is considered by the foundation as a road map for the next conservative president.

“A lot of misleading rhetoric has surrounded Project 2025, and there’s an enormous double-standard here because Joe Biden and mainstream Democrats are never forced to answer for the policies of left-wing think tanks,” Bedford said.

“Joe Biden doesn’t have to answer for the statements of every anti-Israel Democrat,” Bedford continued. “Donald Trump is being made to own every further-right conservative policy proposal, some of which are not even affiliated with his campaign.”

Trump’s campaign is not affiliated with Project 2025, but several officials who used to work for his presidential administration had a part in the road map, and his press secretary participated in a recruiting video for the foundation.

Bedford argued that Trump differs from Project 2025’s more extreme policies on abortion that call for restrictions on healthcare relating to it. Trump recently changed the Republican Party platform to leave abortion up to the states.

“Donald Trump is a lot more centrist on one of the hottest topics of the election: abortion,” Bedford said.

“Donald Trump has actually angered conservatives by taking on a more moderate position on abortion, leaving it up to the states and explicitly not embracing a purely pro-life platform, so it’s a really misleading effort to make Donald Trump look extreme on an issue where he’s incredibly centrist,” she added.

Bedford went on the program with Rep. Erin Houchin (R-IN).
