As students head back to school this Fall, the Washington Examiner is breaking down where each candidate stands on education. We will look at the promised policies of former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris and their respective running mates, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), as well as how their leadership could affect your child’s school once in the White House.
For the first episode, we explore how former President Donald Trump plans to revamp education in a second term. He lays out many of his goals in “Agenda47: President Trump’s Ten Principles For Great Schools Leading To Great Jobs.”
“The United States spends more money on education than any other country in the world, and yet we get the worst outcomes,” Trump says. “We are at the bottom of every list.”

Trump has many times said he would abolish the Department of Education. Among Trump’s other promises are reversing the Biden administration’s transgender student protections, fighting for parents rights in schools, school choice, allowing prayer and religion back in schools, and giving students access to internships as well as career counseling to get them on the right path early on.
“I want them to be more successful than Trump. Let them go out and be more successful,” Trump said. “I will be the happiest person in the world.”
