House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) is demanding answers from the White House‘s chief of staff on what, if any, classified information was discussed in meetings with President Joe Biden that were attended by his son, Hunter Biden.

In a letter sent Wednesday to chief of staff Jeff Zients, Turner is requesting “full accounting of any classified information discussed or disclosed in these meetings.”

“According to news reporting, the President’s son’s sudden presence at official meetings has caused confusion for some White House staff, prompting a reaction of ‘What the hell is happening?’” Turner wrote.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed this week that Hunter Biden was in the room with the president as he prepared to deliver a prime-time address responding to the Supreme Court decision on presidential immunity. The confirmation came after NBC News reported Hunter Biden had been “closely advising his father” after Thursday’s presidential debate.

“Hunter came back with him and walked with him into that meeting, that prep, that speech prep, and, you know, and he ended up spending time with his dad and his family that night,” Jean-Pierre told reporters on Tuesday. “That is basically what happened.”

The younger Biden was also back at the White House on Wednesday for a ceremony posthumously awarding the Medal of Honor to a number of Union soldiers.

Turner said in his letter it is “disturbing” to learn about the first son’s involvement in meetings at the White House.

“It is unclear what official meetings and phone calls Hunter Biden is participating in and in what capacity and whether these discussions include classified information,” Turner wrote. “An immediate response is requested, please notify the Committee of the official meetings Hunter Biden is participating in, and if classified information is being disclosed now that Hunter Biden is allegedly taking meetings with the President.”

Hunter Biden has been a flashpoint for House Republicans in their investigation of the Biden family over foreign business dealings, particularly due to the fact that the younger Biden used to sit on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian company. The first son was recently found guilty of all three charges he was facing related to a 2018 gun purchase.
