Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) stated Sunday that she believes President Joe Biden is “not running the White House,” calling the current president “weak.”

While discussing illegal immigration and the growing problem it has become for the country on Biden’s watch as president, with Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) feuding with the Biden administration over the issue, Noem was asked by Fox News host Maria Bartiromo why Biden would allow so many illegal immigrants into the United States, and what she believed his motivation to be.

“He’s weak, and somebody’s running the White House, I don’t believe it’s Joe Biden,” Noem said on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “He’s never been this extreme. This is an extreme remaking of America, and it is a socialist, communist agenda.”

The South Dakota governor noted that the Democratic Party is completely different from what the party once was 20 years ago, adding that it does not want “a strong America.”

Noem visited the southern border last month with the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety. She said she is willing to send her state National Guard to the “war zone” at the border. Additionally, she is one of over two dozen Republican governors who have backed Abbott’s showdown against Biden over securing the border.

Noem, along with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), has been at the center of speculation regarding who former President Donald Trump might pick for his 2024 vice presidential candidate. Other potential candidates rumored to be considered by Trump include Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Arizona 2024 Senate candidate Kari Lake, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

Biden won South Carolina’s Democratic presidential primary on Saturday night, earning 96% of the votes cast. In his victory speech, Biden thanked voters for setting him “on the path to winning the presidency again — and making Donald Trump a loser — again.”
