Star Wars actor Mark Hamill continued his campaigning for President Joe Biden on social media following his White House visit.

“Hey Florida Democrats, Mark Hamill here,” he said on Saturday in a video thanking the Florida Democratic Party for an invite to an event.

“I wanted to send along a message. I have a lot of friends in Florida and I’ve heard about all of the work you’ve done to get back on track: knocking on doors, making calls, registering voters, supporting candidates up and down the ballot,” Hamill said.

He added, “That’s exactly what it’s going to take to take back Florida!”

The actor said that the stakes are high for the 2024 presidential election and that he was counting on them “to lead the resistance.”

Hamill referred to the Republican Party as the “Evil Empire.”

“It’s up to all of us to send President Biden and Vice President Harris back to the White House to finish the job,” he said.

Hamill called on his fans to “send Sen. Rick Scott into retirement” and to defend “reproductive rights.”

He urged Florida to “stay in the fight” and closed with a Star Wars saying, “May the Fourth with be with you.”

In another video posted by the Biden campaign’s TikTok account, Hamill touted how he was voting for “Joe-bi-wan Kenobi.”

His videos received some criticism on social media.

“Have you ever wondered why Harrison Ford had so much more success in acting after Star Wars compared to Mark Hamill?” a social media user reacted.

Another person added, “The cringe is strong with this one.”

Prior to Hamill’s social media posts campaigning for Biden this weekend, he visited the White House on Friday and made remarks during the White House press briefing while wearing Biden’s iconic aviator sunglasses.
