Vice President Kamala Harris was mocked Wednesday for her awkward TV appearances as another hurricane hits the East Coast.
The vice president called into The Weather Channel to address “misinformation” about Federal Emergency Management Agency recovery and emergency preparedness efforts after Hurricane Helene. She then started explaining the impacts of the different hurricane categories for Hurricane Milton.
“It’s really important that we think about the language that we’re using to talk about what we’re predicting. For example, it has moved — from time to time from a Category 5 to a Category 4. It’s important that we emphasize that downgrading has happened. In fact, the difference between Category 5 and Category 4 in terms of the danger and the damage is pretty much the same,” she explained on The Weather Channel.

Social media users laughed off her elementary teacher-style explanations about the weather.
“Sounds like me trying to explain my homework in 3rd grade,” one user said.
“She likes to talk down to people a lot for someone one who has to be told what to say and when to say it,” another user said.
“She still has zero comprehension about what is actually happening with the hurricane,” one person wrote on X.
“This is getting comical,” another person quipped.
On Wednesday afternoon, President Joe Biden and the vice president received updates about response efforts for Hurricane Helene and the expected impacts of Hurricane Milton. Harris participated virtually in the briefing with Biden.

At one point, Harris was seen covering her mouth and talking to her staff, asking if she was in a “live broadcast.”
She then awkwardly addressed Floridians.
“To the people of Florida, and in particular … the people of the uh Tampa resid … um, region, we urge you to take this storm seriously,” Harris said.
She and Biden also denounced “misinformation” in the hurricane relief efforts.
“This stuff is so embarrassing,” one social media user scoffed.

“The media blitz by Harris is not going well. The more she is put in front of the camera. The more people dislike her,” another person remarked.
“This awkward moment of incompetence brought to you by: Mega-Donors,” one person said on X.
