Former President Donald Trump has allegedly made private remarks about his greater popularity than pop megastar Taylor Swift as speculation of her possible endorsement of President Joe Biden in 2024 takes off.
The former president reportedly claimed he was “more popular” than the singer, per the Rolling Stone, citing sources close to Trump.
He further said his fans were more committed to him than the star’s army of “Swifties.” Trump enjoys a base of supporters who have proven immovable, but Swift’s fans have also become known for their die-hard commitment to her.
Trump has not reacted with concern to the idea of Swift or other A-list celebrities endorsing Biden, pointing to his loyal base, according to the report.
Trump also reportedly wondered why Swift had beaten him out for Time person of the year in 2023, saying it “obviously” didn’t make sense.
Operatives aligned with the former president and close to the current campaign have long been aware of the possibility of a Swift-Biden endorsement, and some Trump allies have raised the concern with Trump in the past several months, per Rolling Stone.

Swift has not done anything in recent months to indicate her desire to weigh in on the 2024 election, but her massive and loyal following has made her a desired surrogate for the Biden campaign and a possible problem for the Trump campaign.
The star’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and the team’s advancement to the 2024 Super Bowl have only served to elevate conversations about the duo’s significant popularity. Swift’s appearances at NFL games to support her beau have become a draw for new viewers to tune in to football games, even managing to make Sunday’s AFC championship game the most-viewed ever, per CBS.
