A Virginia Walmart night supervisor left behind a chilling “death note” before turning the store’s break room into a bloodbath Tuesday night, killing six store employees and injuring six others, the Chesapeake Police Department revealed Friday.

The gunman has been identified by officials as a night supervisor and 12-year employee of the Chesapeake store; he reportedly turned the gun on himself after going on the shooting spree.

“Sorry God, I’ve failed you, this was not your fault but my own,” the gunman said in a note found on his phone. “I failed to listen to the groans of the holy spirit which made me a poor representation of You. I was harassed by idiots with low intelligence and a lack of wisdom. I remained strong through most of the torment but my dignity was completely taken away beyond repair by my phone getting hacked.”

“I can’t say that they were the only ones that lacked intelligence and wisdom, I was just as guilty and failed my management team and everyone that ever loved me by convincing them that I was normal,” the note continued.

“A few months back I had overheard [redacted] talking to [redacted] and he told me that he had been trying to get rid of me since day one. After I heard that I lashed out,” the shooter said. “The associates gave me twisted grins, mocked me and celebrated my downfall the last day. That’s why they suffer the same fate as me.”

“My God forgive me for what I’m going to do,” the last line read.

Some Walmart employees said the gunman was targeting specific workers, while also shooting wildly.

“I just watched 3 of my coworkers/friends be killed in front of me,” one employee, Donya Prioleau, said in a Facebook post. “[Redacted] killed them in cold blood … I cannot unsee what happened in that break room.”

Police have confirmed the suspect used a 9mm handgun that was legally purchased from a local store on the same day he went on the shooting spree. The suspect had no criminal history.
