Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) argued President Joe Biden’s “weakness” was responsible for the recent assault on two U.S. Marines in Turkey.

A group of anti-American protesters from the Turkish Youth Group were seen online assaulting the two Marines and placing a bag on one of the Marines’s head. The group stated on social media that the blood of “thousands of Palestinians” is on the hands of the U.S. troops.

“You have a party that is openly embracing Hamas and a terrorist organization that they are, and that is the Democratic Party, and this right here is what happens,” Mullin said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “When our leader in the White House shows weakness and instead of having peace through strength, they have peace through appeasement, you end up having people that they don’t respect and they don’t fear the United States. This should never have happened.”

Mullin also commended the restraint the two Marines demonstrated on their attackers and stated he believed the attackers could have been “laying on the ground” if the two Marines decided to cut loose. He reiterated, however, that the attack would not have happened in the first place if the current president “stood solid with Israel and bleed in peace through strength.”

The senator also slammed the mass anti-Israel protest that occurred in New York City on Monday. He the protesters “terrorists” and compared the event to how many Democratic lawmakers referred to Jan. 6 protesters as “domestic terrorists.” Mullin argued the protesters are actual terrorists for supporting the Hamas terrorist group.

“This isn’t about Palestine,” Mullin said. “If the Palestinian people wanted to live underneath Palestinian rule, they could have lived in the West Bank. These individuals that are in Gaza chose to live underneath Hamas, which is a terrorist organization. It’s a horrific thing that’s taken place there, but they chose to live there.”

Last week marked the third anniversary of 13 U.S. service members’ deaths during the country’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, which Mullin called “a black eye” on the Biden administration. He argued the administration is doing all it can to draw attention away from it and argued the “left-wing media” is “constantly” covering for them.
