Former President Donald Trump launched a golden sneaker line called “Trump Sneakers” on Saturday, the day after a New York judge ordered him to pay nearly $355 million at a civil fraud trial.
The $399 sneaker sold out on the website by Saturday night.
The sneaker craze over the weekend amid the 2024 presidential election spurred jokes and memes about Trump’s older opponent, President Joe Biden.
“You’re just mad that the Biden campaign didn’t think to drop Biden shoes at Sneaker Con,” radio host Andrew Wilkow quipped on social media with a photo of a white Velcro shoe.
Another person joked with a meme of “Biden shufflers with anti-slip and fall technology.”

“To counter Trumps brilliant move to create and sell Trump shoes, the Biden team has come out with their own Biden shoe,” another social media user said.
Last September, Axios reported that the president has been “wearing tennis shoes more often to avoid slipping” and started using the “short stairs on Air Force One” following his repeated difficulties with balance.
