Caitlyn Jenner slammed fellow transgender Lia Thomas, suggesting the biological male who identifies as a female is a “narcissist.”
Thomas, a former collegiate swimmer from the University of Pennsylvania, has launched legal action in an effort to overturn a World Aquatics’s ruling that bans biological males from competing in women’s swimming events with the hope of competing at this year’s Paris Olympic trials as a female. Thomas reportedly hired Canadian law firm Tyr to request that the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland overturn the ruling.
“Well, for the last six, nine months, I really haven’t heard much about her ever since the Olympic Committee came out and basically said, ‘You’re not eligible,’” Jenner told OutKick’s Riley Gaines, host of Gaines for Girls. “Now she’s trying to fight that, and I think she’s doing it for the publicity. I don’t know any other reason why she should. I mean, why she would.”
“Lia Thomas coming back, honestly, I think she’s a narcissist. I think she just wants the publicity,” Jenner also said. “I think she was virtually a nobody.”
Jenner contended that the attention Thomas drew as a result of barely beating Gaines, a 12-time All-American swimmer who competed on behalf of the University of Kentucky, has become something of which Thomas desires more.
“Nobody knew of her until she was beating your butt and got into women’s swimming,” Jenner told Gaines. “Then all of a sudden she was on the covers of magazines and she’s just living up all the pressure. She’s getting clicks all over the place. She’s getting followers all over the place to see what this story is.”
Gaines noted that there have yet to be swimmers who choose to compete in the World Aquatics’s new “Open Category” that allows transgender female swimmers to participate in contests without having an advantage over biological women.
Jenner suggested that’s the case due to there being so few transgender athletes.

“You couldn’t make up a football team out of all the trans people that are in sports,” Jenner insisted. “It’s just not going to happen.”
Last year, Jenner launched the Fairness First political action committee with the goal to “fight the radical gender ideology, put parental rights at the forefront of education, and keep boys out of women’s sports.”
