Amazon is slated to broadcast the first-ever NFL game on Black Friday, and it will be charging a pretty penny for those looking to advertise during the football game.
The company reportedly charged $880,000 for a 30-second spot on the broadcast to be streamed on Amazon Prime on Friday, which is double the regular advertising rate for its traditional Thursday Night Football broadcasts, according to AdAge.

While NFL games are synonymous with Thanksgiving, the league will be adding a game on Black Friday this year. Amazon secured the broadcasting rights to the game last year, adding to its 15 Thursday night games per season.
Three games are played on Thanksgiving, at noon, 4:30 p.m., and 8:20 p.m. The game on Thanksgiving night, while being on a Thursday, is part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football contract, meaning the streaming giant now has a game during the holiday weekend after being shut out last year.
Amazon paid about $100 million for the game, according to Sports Business Journal, and has treated it as a major event, allowing those without Amazon Prime to stream it for free. The company, best known for its online shopping marketplace, is also tying the game into its Black Friday sales event.

“’Black Friday’ is the unofficial start of the holiday season, and we’re thrilled to kick it off with a gift for football fans across the country with this new game,” Jay Marine, global head of sports for Prime Video, said in a statement after the Black Friday game was announced last year.
The game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets from East Rutherford, New Jersey, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime.
